The XYZ Affair recently released two new songs, “No One That You Love Will Ever Die” and “Sock You In The Face With Love,” as free digital downloads. The former track was produced Ben Allen, the same man behind Merriweather Post Pavilion’s trippy-tribal sound, although the XYZ Affair’s brainy, nuanced pop is decidedly sunnier than Animal Collective’s sonic experiments.
